How we mix a celadon glaze
By Mira Khan
Celadon is a glaze that turns a soft green when iron meets a kiln starved of oxygen.
The recipe
- Feldspar, silica and whiting as the base
- One per cent red iron oxide
- A reduction firing at the top of the kiln
We test every batch on a tile before it goes near a bowl.
